A total of 10 states of India have been included under the 12 industrial smart cities scheme.
Among these, 3 South Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala have been named in this list.
The 12 industrial smart cities scheme has been brought under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program.
The Government of India is estimated to spend Rs 28,602 crore on this scheme.
An investment of Rs 1.52 lakh crore is being claimed. This investment will be made by private companies. Most of these companies will be foreign.
Its objective may be to upgrade the infrastructure of some backward and historical cities of India.
